CARBON FORUM AMERICA 2008

San Francisco, California, USA, Feb. 26-27, 2008

THE CARBON MARKET IN AMERICA
According to New York Times, Carbon Trading is one of the fastest growing specialties in the financial service industry and is estimated to grow from $ 30 billion to $ 1 Trillion in the next decade. Carbon Trading is expected to be the world’s biggest commodity. The US is seeing a strong, emerging shift towards voluntary carbon emission and an urgency among local governments to pass environmental legislation. It is very likely that the upcoming months will shape the future of the North American Carbon Emissions market and legislation. Issues such as policy, market place, voluntary standards and technology will be formulated and created.

CARBON FORUM AMERICA (CFA) 2008 is a response to the demand for an organized and regulated market. Unlike others, CFA is the first and only US industry event which combines a Trade Fair with a high level conference program. The organizers expect 1,000 -1,500 conference delegates and 80-100 exhibitors/sponsors. Organized by the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and Koelnmesse the event will be held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California from February 26 – 27, 2008. Show and conference hours are 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on both days.

The International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) will organize a comprehensive, in depth conference program consisting of three main conference tracks with a total of 22 sessions. The conference categories are built around three thematic blocks designed to shape the emerging North American Carbon Emissions Industry: Policy, Marketplace and Technology.

San Francisco was selected as the venue for this event due to California’s progressive legislation and proactive approach towards green technology.

Koelnmesse and IETA have a history of organizing Carbon events over the last 4 years on different continents among them CARBON EXPO in COLOGNE and Carbon Expo Asia in Beijing.
