DESCRIPTION
The study of air toxics, the assessment of risk and the management of reduction strategies is one of the fastest growing fields in North America. Industry will be facing increasingly stringent requirements to monitor, report and reduce air emissions to meet current regulations. In addition, odour is a significant environmental concern for people around the world and many industries as well municipalities are faced with controlling adverse odour impacts generated by their facilities. These adverse odour impacts are often very complex and are poorly understood by the persons required to address them. If odour issues are not promptly addressed, they can lead to regulatory compliance orders or even civil lawsuits.
What will be the new requirements and what should we be doing now is the focus of the three-day seminar which brings together industry, environmental consultants and the regulators to envision the upcoming requirements for the different industries, the available technologies and their best use with the objective of increasing industry=s preparedness to face the impending changes. You will learn methods for determining the contributors of air toxics and odour at your facility and how to understand the impact of your facility on your neighbors. You will also be introduced to a number of strategies and technologies for controlling such contaminants.
OBJECTIVES
To increase industry's awareness of the upcoming changes in the requirements for reducing air emissions and to familiarize industry with the latest available technologies for achieving the required emission reductions.
To familiarize participants with key concepts for understanding appropriate sampling and measuring techniques.
To present and discuss the regulatory and civil implications of adverse odour impacts and to introduce odour control strategies and technologies for mitigating adverse odour impacts.

Plant managers, production managers, plant engineers, individuals working in maintenance departments, engineering and consulting company employees, and federal, provincial and local government personnel engaged in process industries, transportation, environmental and regulatory affairs.
