The sea-port in Belize City receives many cruise ships on a daily basis. The waste removed from these ships must be treated using internationally accepted methods of waste destruction. To prevent the transmission of disease, international regulations mandate the destruction of ship waste. For example, the improper disposal of food waste can introduce foreign animal diseases to local livestock. Incineration is a safe and approved method of disposal. The Eco Waste Oxidizer was the technology selected by Belize Waste Control Ltd. as the best option to dispose of waste created at the port.Regulated waste materials are carefully handled and kept segregated from other waste streams.
thermal treatment technologies for solid and liquid wastes
Belize Waste Control uses the Eco Waste Oxidizer (ECO Model) to process the regulated waste. The resultant ash is pathogen-free and safe for disposal in the local landfill. The Eco Waste Oxidizer's smokeless and odourless emissions compliment the local tourist economy where smoke and odour would not be tolerated. The machine operates outdoors near the port terminal.
The results
Environmental Protection
Clean combustion of the regulated waste prevents local air quality degradation.
Animal Health Protection
Local livestock and domestic animals are protected from potential sources of disease originating in foreign countries.

Technical description
Two Stage Process: 1st stage (Primary Chamber) burns waste and produces inert ash and combustible gases. 2nd stage Afterburner (Secondary Chamber) combusts the offgases to eliminate smoke and minimize contaminants.
Cycle Time: 8-12 hours for oxidation, 6-10 hours for cool down and 1 hour for ash cleanout and reload. 24 hours per batch.
Controls: Integrated control panel complete with programmable logic control, supervisory control, monitoring, data acquisition and remote diagnostic capability with PC computer via modem.
Operating Environment: Inside a building or protected from the weather.Weather proofing options available. Loading Options: Top or front load, integrated cart tipper, conveyor or manual.
Other Options:Air Pollution Control System (APCS) - Scrubber, Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS). Warranty:1 year after start-up on defective parts or workmanship.
Technical Specifications
External Casing/Finish: 1/4” (0.6 cm) mild steel, sandblasted and coated with rust inhibiting and heat resistant paint.
