Join Lawrence Berkeley’s Steve Selkowitz and Alcoa Kawneer’s Eddie Bugg for this complimentary webinar to learn:

    * Benefits of energy efficient buildings and the role of design solutions using glazing/shading that capture daylight advantages and contribute to high performance building.

    * Energy efficient building technologies focusing on architectural aluminum systems, (windows, curtain wall, entrances, framing and sun control products), that result in high performance buildings.

    * Tools for achieving energy efficiency and LEED certification.

    * Strategies for optimizing energy savings in specific climate zones, using various combinations of architectural aluminum products and systems.

    * Energy modeling techniques.

More than one-third of the energy consumed in the U.S. is used in buildings. The U.S. government stimulus package directs funding to convert federal and institutional buildings into high-performance green buildings. The challenge to design for sustainability can be met by choosing the right materials, systems and tools. Steve Selkowitz, head of the Building Technologies Department at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, will discuss the benefits of energy efficient buildings and the role of design solutions using efficient glazing/shading that can help reduce thermal loads, capture daylight benefits and reduce energy use and contribute to a high level of performance and comfort. Eddie Bugg, director of sustainable solutions for Kawneer Company and Alcoa’s expert in sustainable and energy efficient building design, will demonstrate the role that sustainable, recyclable aluminum architectural solutions play in helping meet energy efficiency goals and LEED certification goals. Aluminum’s use as a building material is a smart investment over a potentially infinite product life cycle.
